POYET IS READY

Sunderland will play its first Premier League game under the new boss Gus Poyet on Saturday. That will be an away game against Swansea City.

The Black Cats have had a horrible season so far. They have played 7 games in the ongoing Premier League and they are still looking for a victory. They have lost 6 out of those 7 games, while, the remaining one has ended in a draw. They have got just one point at the moment and they are right at the bottom of the points table.

Paolo Di Canio who was the Sunderland boss at the start of this season was sacked last month because of the continuous poor performances of the team and he was replaced by Poyet who hasn’t managed any Premier League team so far.

The game between Sunderland and Swansea City will be a battle between the two old friends i.e. Gus Poyet and Michael Laudrup (manager of Swansea City), and is one of our football bets of the day.

These two played against each other a lot in the top flight in Spain in the 90s and they are close mates.

Talking to the reporters ahead of the game, Poyet even praised Laudrup for the work that he has done with Swansea City in the last 1 year or so.

Poyet said, “Swansea has progressed really well under Michael. They lifted the league cup title last season and they are in Europe. That’s a big achievement for a club like them and Michael needs to be given credit for that.”

When asked about his playing days against Laudrup, Poyet said, “He was one hell of a player and he really made me suffer a lot. He had got that natural talent and on his day, he was very hard to stop.”
